Tracy LaRock Higo-Jack – Coffee Bag Micarta (Custom)
East meets West
The Tracy LaRock Higo-Jack is a beautiful melding of old and new, East and West. A reinvented slip joint pattern by Tracy, the Higo-Jack is a stunning modern take on the Japanese Higonokami friction folder that has been made and used for centuries.
Leveraging on his lifelong obsession and experience, Tracy honed his craft alongside veteran knife makers like knife makers Luke Swenson, Jared Oser, and Enrique Pena among others – and the rest is history.
The innovative Tracy LaRock Higo-Jack is his unique take on the Higo knife, and features a beautifully hand-ground W2 steel blade with a straight edge for even cutting power throughout, and is completed with a distinctive hamon.
Inspired by Japanese bladesmithing, the hamon is created by the tempering process. The difference in hardness allows for both edge retention and flex without breaking.
The unique Coffee Bag Micarta handle allows for precise control and comfort when cutting, while the screw construction allows for easy maintenance and the 410 stainless steel milled relieved liners keep things lightweight and robust.
As with every Tracy LaRock creation, each blade is carefully considered and individually handcrafted to perfection right here in America. It is finished off with mill-relieved liners and pins for durability, and bronze washers for a silky-smooth deployment.
