Pre-Owned: Okluma DC1 Flashlight – Mokume (Custom)
Light in the Dark
Condition: Excellent
A stalwart in the custom flashlight scene, Okluma makes some of the highest-quality flashlights on the market. The definition of small-batch production, Jeff designs, machines and assembles each flashlight in his garage out of Oklahoma City (hence the name, Okluma!).
The flagship model of the Okluma line-up, the DC1 is the quintessential everyday flashlight. Powered by a single 18350 MR Li-Ion cell (which is provided), the DC1 is designed to be compact enough to carry anywhere easily, yet powerful and bright enough to illuminate your way forward in any imaginable situation.
What sets this DC1 apart is the exquisitely blasted Mokume-gane body, also known as woodgrain-metal due to the one-of-a-kind grain patterns and swirls that resemble, well, woodgrain. Creating and working with Mokume-gane is a labor-intensive process, but the end-result more than speaks for itself.
In addition, the DC1 comes with all the thoughtful details that you’d expect from an industry-leading EDC flashlight. Triple Nichia 219C LEDs (4000k) and Carclo 10507 optics help you see better in the dark, the scratch-resistant sapphire glass keeps everything well-protected, a copper pill enhances heat dissipation while the intuitive interface and McClicky Switch allows for easy activation and use.
What’s not to love? Nothing really when it comes to the magnificent Okluma DC1 in Mokume-gane. As rare as it gets and as functional as you can imagine, the battle-tested Okluma DC1 goes against the grain to be the perfect flashlight in every sense of the world.
